MIRA Tech Park Breaks Ground on Next Phase of Development with Commencement of Plot 9 Construction

This next phase will add 1 million sq. ft. of R&D, innovation, and engineering facilities to the existing 850-acre site, heralding a new era of growth, larger footprints, and enhanced opportunities for existing occupiers to scale up and thrive.

Plot 9 is divided into two expansive units, each providing 36,000 sq. ft. of space to deliver a total area of 72,000 sq. ft. These units have been designed to offer a harmonious blend of workshop and office space, surrounded by lush natural landscaping and ample parking. With flexibility at its core, Plot 9 delivers high-quality office and technical spaces that are ready for tenant fit-out. Its strategic location near central campus amenities, poised to benefit from future redevelopment, further enhances its appeal as a prime destination for businesses seeking to thrive in a dynamic environment.

The Leicester and Leicestershire Enterprise Partnership and Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council have been instrumental in driving economic development, playing a crucial role in unlocking this new phase for MIRA Tech Park. Their unwavering support and funding have been a key driving force in getting the Park to this stage.

This next phase of MIRA Tech Park is being delivered in a joint venture with real estate investor and developer Evans Randall Investors, with the project delivery managed by Swanvale Developments. GMI has been appointed as the construction company entrusted with the construction of Plot 9 which is set to achieve strong Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) credentials, targeting a BREEAM rating of "Excellent" and an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of A.

Just weeks after the planning approval announcement for MIRA Tech Park's South Site expansion, set to feature over 2 million sq. ft. of advanced manufacturing facilities, the groundbreaking of Plot 9 adds further momentum to the Park's transformative journey. As anticipation grows for the announcement of building occupiers in the coming months, Plot 9 emerges as a symbol of innovation, sustainability, and growth. It embodies more than just the construction of a building; it represents the cultivation of a community and the realisation of a shared vision for a brighter future in the Midlands.
